Betta fish (sometimes spelled Beta fish) and often called Siamese Fighting fish have beautiful colors. They come in reds, blues and yellows (solid and combination colors). The males are more colorful than the females and are more often available for purchase.

Betta fish care is very easy. They should be fed once per day and require very little space. However, the larger the bowl the better it is for your betta. It's important to keep bettas in separate bowls, since they are very aggressive fish and will fight until the death. This is a great starter fish for a child or a great fish for an adult seeking a low maintenance fish with outstanding color.
