Dog Breeds
Hound, non-sporting, sporting, terrier, toy and working round out the main groups of dogs. With each group of dogs there are many breeds that generally have something in common. For instance, the working dogs are known for their tendency to work with human being on such things as guarding or herding. You will also find that the personalities of dogs in a given group tend to be similar, so make sure you consider the dog group when consider which breed is right for you! These dog groups are familiar to some, but foreign to many others. Perhaps it's easiest to give a few examples of dog breeds that fall into these different groups.
