| Finches are quite different than most other pet birds. They don't appear to be able to say any words and are very skittish around humans. They are among the smallest of the pet birds and often enjoy living in a community of other birds. Pet finches are very active and make squeaking-type sounds. With proper care, they can live an average of 5 years. If you're looking for a pet bird that doesn't demand or particularly want a lot of attention, besides providing it fresh food, water and a clean cage, and if you don't mind their sometimes dizzying activity level, finches might be right for you!
