| Lovebirds have deep, beautiful coloring. Most have a primary coloring of green or yellow with offsetting secondary colors such as orange and blue. Their size is comparable to cockatiels, but just a little bit smaller. However, lovebirds' sounds are not small at all. They can make quite a bit of noise, relative to a parakeet or a cockatiel. Be ready for this. Lovebirds also tend to be more active than the very sedate cockatiel. Lovebirds are curious by nature and will explorer your house or your person if given the opportunity. As with any pet bird, finding a lovebird that has been hand fed is great. It will make it easier for you to play with your lovebird. These lovely birds often times live well over 10 years. So once again, as I've said for other pet birds, be prepared to make a lasting commitment to your lovebird. Back to Varieties of Bird |
